As one of the automobile manufacturing centers in China, Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone has welcomed a technological feast in the automotive industry - the "Second Automotive CO ₂ Heat Pump Air Conditioning and Thermal Management System Technology Seminar". Experts, scholars, and industry leaders from all walks of life gathered in Wuhan Car Valley to brainstorm and promote the development of automotive CO ₂ heat pump air conditioning and thermal management system technology, and to fulfill the Kigali Amendment as soon as possible, To achieve a new path of high-quality development in the automotive industry and jointly explore the future of the industry.

Dr. Zhang Rongrong was invited to give a keynote speech on "Key Components and System Applications of CO ₂ - The Impact of Refrigerant Charge and Expansion Valve Opening on System Performance".
Dr. Zhang first introduced the key components of CO ₂ that Sanhua has developed, such as EXV (electronic expansion valve), ACCU+IHX (reservoir+gas separator), and Chiller (vehicle plate heat exchanger). Then, through detailed experimental testing data, he demonstrated the refrigerant "under charge" and "appropriate charge" in the carbon dioxide system under refrigeration and heating conditions, respectively The impact of three scenarios of overcharging and the opening of the expansion valve on system performance. The experimental results show that under different CO ₂ charging rates, the adjustment of the electronic expansion valve has a significant impact on the system COP, and the presence of gas plays an important role in refrigerant migration and management, which can balance the demand for refrigerant charging under heating and cooling conditions.
Starting from the sub topic of "The Impact of Refrigerant Charge and Expansion Valve Opening on System Performance", Dr. Zhang provides a glimpse into Sanhua's relentless pursuit and professional focus on technological innovation in the development of CO ₂ key components and system applications, as an expert in the field of thermal management for new energy vehicles. As of now, Sanhua has applied for more than 100 patents and authorized more than 30 patents in the field of key components for automotive CO ₂, including more than 60 patents for CO ₂ electronic expansion valves and more than 10 authorized patents.
